Multi-Sensory Labs

The highlight of the First Strokes workshop is the multi-sensory labs. Therapists and teachers explore over 40 stations with the newest therapeutic ideas for multi-sensory handwriting. Approximately ½ of the labs are grasp labs, where participants explore therapeutic activities for grasp development and fine motor readiness skills. Many of the latest products from therapeutic catalogs are available. The grasp activities are appropriate for preschoolers through elementary aged students and are designed to allow the therapist or teacher to develop inexpensive toolkits for therapy or grasp labs within the classroom. Approximately ½ the labs are multi-sensory writing ideas for kinesthetic, multi-sensory learning and generalization skills.

All these labs are appropriate to augment ANY handwriting program – not just First Strokes!
