Ruled notebook paper looks exactly like standard, blue-lined notebook paper, but has a ruled line 1/3 space from the bottom. This paper is appropriate for students using print or cursive in second grade and above. Most students begin to use notebook paper in second grade. They had large handwriting in first grade, and were using ruled paper. When students first begin using notebook paper, most students have large handwriting. Many students have difficulty maintaining a consistency of size of and form of letters as they transition to standard notebook paper. The ruled notebook paper is a good tool for all students to use for a period of 6 weeks to 2 months as they transition to standard notebook paper. It is recommended that students in second grade or above, use this paper for all homework to practice letter formation in either print or cursive, if they are in second grade or above. This paper also works well for older students who have poor legibility with handwriting. Often, just teaching a child to use this paper and have improved consistency of size and height of letters will improve legibility significantly. This paper comes with the First Strokes Cursive Kit but can be purchased separately
